    Retail Store Manager

    Modern Games, Bend’s local game store and game cafe in the historic Box Factory is looking to hire a full-time, Retail Store Manager. This position will oversee all aspects of store operations and be responsible for our future growth through connecting the game trade industry with our local community. We’re looking for an independent, hard-working candidate that values positive customer interaction, has an exceptional attention to detail, and possesses a genuine interest in board games and the tabletop hobby.

    The duties of this position include:
    Manages all aspects of day-to-day store operations
    Maintains a clean, organized, and well-merchandised specialty retail environment
    Ensures the highest levels of customer satisfaction in all facets of the store
    Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises a small team of employees
    Prepares employee shift scheduling within a provided budget
    Works on the sales floor as needed by coverage and sales volume
    Provides light food service including coffee, tea, beer, and wine
    Works to meet or exceed store goals and objectives to the best of their ability
    Processes incoming inventory for accuracy including orders, counts, and returns
    Purchases supplies and materials as needed for the store
    Curates and updates this cafe’s game library
    Teaches games to a diverse audience with varying levels of experience
    Completes a variety of daily tasks and store projects
    Schedules, promotes, and coordinates store events
    Develops store policies and implements store procedures

    In addition, the Retail Store Manager may be required to perform additional duties as assigned or as is customary for an employee in a similar position.

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
    3+ years management experience in retail or a customer service industry
    Strong leadership qualities and experience managing employees
    Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in an independent working environment
    Possesses strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage
    Extensive knowledge of board games and awareness of new trends in the industry
